Overview & Pricing

I focus on building trust, communication, and a deep understanding between you and your dog. My approach is relationship-based, not rule-based—tailored to support both you and your dog in real life, not just in training sessions.

Get to Know Penny Locke

I became a dog trainer because of a special dog who needed me to truly understand him—and I knew that mattered. Now, I help people uncover the why behind their dog’s behavior. With kind, trusted, and qualified guidance, I support lasting behavior change and help deepen the bond between dogs and their people. I make time for my dog and family; time in the kitchen cooking, and DIY time to create anew.

Virtual Consultations

Thanks to the tools we have available today, I’m able to offer professional support and training advice virtually—often with the same (or even better) results as in-person sessions. In fact, for some dogs—especially those who are fearful or anxious—meeting virtually can be less stressful. Without the added pressure of a new person in the home, your dog is more likely to behave naturally, which helps me observe their behavior more accurately. From there, I can guide you with practical, thoughtful steps toward meaningful change.

In-Home Training

Our first in-person session usually takes place in your home—provided it doesn’t add extra stress for your dog. I’ll observe how you and your dog interact, note their mobility, and consider any environmental influences. We’ll review your areas of concern and look at how the strategies from your initial virtual session are already helping. I’ll also introduce new, positive techniques you can begin using right away—so you can start seeing meaningful shifts while laying the groundwork for lasting change.

Training Packages

In order to achieve long-lasting, positive changes in your puppy or dog's behavior, you have the option of purchasing a single 1-hour session, or a package of sessions, offered at a special rate. These facilitate consistency and accountability through real-time virtual support and/or in-person training sessions. You will be making the commitment to train your puppy or dog, with my help.

I’ll guide you with practical, confidence-building strategies tailored to your dog’s needs—because learning never really ends, no matter their age.

Get to Know Penny Locke

Thanks to a dog, I am now a trainer. Learning everything I can about what makes a dog tick, respond, act, and react makes me a better and intentional trainer. I strive for the results you dream of, one dog at a time, one day at a time. I am on the dog's side and am bold enough to tell you when things could be better. I have 2 dogs; Briar, an 8 year old Borzoi, and Hope, a 2 year old Black Labrador, who came to me as a career change year old puppy from Guide dogs. Let's change the course of your dog's life, soon!

My Approach

Knowing how dogs learn makes training easier. Learning through mentors and trainers who came before me has been invaluable in deciding what makes training successful. As your coach, I will empathize and encourage you to get the best from your individual, unique companion dog using kind, effective techniques.

We train at your dog's pace to achieve lasting results. Training your dog is a family affair that can enhance respect and build a closer bond beyond that previously experienced.
