Puppy Training & Support

You'll benefit from a lot of support during your puppy's early developmental period. The 'imprinting time' ends around 16 weeks of age. Everything they have experienced until then, good and bad, sticks for life, so, getting this part right will serve you both well!

Having a happy, solid, grounded dog makes for a more relaxed life with a dog. They start by getting used to their new home. This includes learning where to relieve themselves, as well as what they can and can't bite, chew, eat, sleep on, climb on, or make noise about. Getting accustomed to people of all types and ages is also learned during this adjustment period. There's a lot they don't understand.

I will teach you about identifying your puppy's needs verses wants; how to create boundaries, both physical and otherwise; and how to offer 'time-outs' when undesirable behaviors occur. Since our dogs are the sum of what they experience, let's be intentional, proactive, and teach our puppies what they need to know. Otherwise, they will make it up for themselves!

I will teach you techniques and protocols that kindly help your puppy understand what you want. By helping you understand and work through the frustrations and challenges of puppyhood, you will experience more calm and harmony in your home.

Triage / Preliminary Session

There are a couple of reasons why a single training session, offered via Zoom, may be what you need.

Triage! Oh dear, what have I done! I'm feeling overwhelmed, or an incident happened, and I need to talk to a pro, to get us back on the right path.

A Preliminary Session. You're undecided if the way I teach is right for you, so you'd like to try it out for size. Or, your budget allows for a single session purchase now, and you'll buy additional sessions later.

Thanks to a dog, I am now a trainer. Learning everything I can about what makes a dog tick, respond, act, and react makes me a better and intentional trainer. I strive for the results you dream of, one dog at a time, one day at a time. I am on the dog's side and am bold enough to tell you when things could be better. I have 2 dogs; Briar, an 8 year old Borzoi, and Hope, a 2 year old Black Labrador, who came to me as a career change year old puppy from Guide dogs. Let's change the course of your dog's life, soon!
